The requirement to manually type in a password means that the password is prone to typos, but much worse, it is less secure.
More prone to typos is obvious. Less secure, because it will be shorter and usually not contain symbols and characters other than letters and numbers. The requirement is contrary to the whole purpose of having a password. Illogic at its finest.
