How things are saved in the database are not controlled by your font settings in Legacy. Those control how things are displayed for screen font settings or which fonts are used in reports.
Obviously the note editor in Legacy uses Times New Roman 10 point font when storing your notes. When you copy you are copying the raw data from the notes not the displayed text. I ran this by the programmer and he says that the above is accurate about how text is stored.
