If you want material pasted into WordPerfect to take on WP's default font, then you must use: Edit | Paste Special and choose Unformatted Text or an appropriate toolbar command or short cut. Otherwise, it will use the font detailed within the pasted material however that is defined, or the closest font that WP has available to it.
Only if no font is defined in the pasted material will WP use its default font in an ordinary paste, which is what you would expect WP to do.
