Because, as Howard says, "est" and "abt" are slightly
different in implication. There's "ca" which would be a lot
more specific than "abt" which is more specific than "est".
  "Cal" is just what it says -- if you subtract this number
from that or add that number to this, you get a 'cal' date
-- and using cal flags it that it is simple arithmetic, not
a deduction.
