I have done similar to Jess... Polly's 1st son, Polly's 2nd son, Polly's 1st daughter---I knew a birth date range based on several old census listings. Or Osee's sibling 1, Osee's sibling 2, Osee's sibling 3---when I didn't know the gender. (Osee being the focus of the research.) Great thread--good to hear others' approaches & opinions. --P

I am tempted to ignore the number, but realise that it would be useful to note it with the family to help as a check in the future. Is there any way to add a number to the family records that will show up in the children display? I tried adding an unknown gender child named "Given: 4 children (Colin+Karen)" (for example), and wonder if anyone has tried this or something like it and can report on its success or limitations.
