Hi Tony, I wonder whether you didn't save the change in Options > Customise?
Has "unknown" disappeared from Family View for this person/these people? If you did save and Unknown hasn't disappeared then it wasn't added by Legacy. This does work in Legacy 7.5 If Unknown is still there, then someone has deliberately added Unknown as a Surname. If that's the case Unknown will show in the Master Surname list see View > Master Lists > Surname In the Master List you can see everyone who uses that "surname" and get a search list. The only way from within Legacy to correct this is to edit each person removing the surname. This is most easily done in the Search List - Edit tab Do think of moving to Legacy 8. C.E. Wood is overly critical, overlooking bugs in 7.5 and ignoring great new features in Legacy 8. Is Legacy 8 perfect and bug free - no - but neither is 7.5.
