I've not been opening most of the forum e-mails, but I did this one assuming
there is a problem with the new update.   I agree with Ward, Legacy 8 is MUCH
slower than 7 ever was, and due to past experience, I'm not one to update my
current version immediately when the notification comes.
Surely Legacy is aware that many of us are not fortunate to have DSL,  my only
available service in my area is either slow or down often.  I do have mine set
to open in Family View, looks like Legacy could be set to only update our
version, IF we personally go to the Legacy Home page.

The message is not meaningless. To the best of the program's knowledge, 454 is
the latest version, lack of more recent information to the contrary. If the
program doesn't currently know there's a later version, how can it tell you that
there is a newer version.

Things that mitigate against this procedure being 100% accurate:-
a) Dialup
b) Telecomms problems
c) Internet problem somewhere between you and Utah
d) Wind in the wrong direction

Be reasonable!
