Hi Nancy, If your file is in the folder you've spelt out, then you've been opening the file from within a zipped backup. That is not what you are supposed to do.
Legacy makes a backup that is a .zip file. In that is the .fdb file and others depending on what choices you make when you backup. When you decide to open the fdb from within the zip file, the computer goes "Help, what will I do with this?" and puts it in the Temp folder. If you need to use a backup copy of your family file, you use Legacy to File > Restore it. You need to find the latest copy of your file that you are happy with and save that somewhere sensible. The best places are: Documents/LegacyFamilyTree/Data/ OR Dropbox/LegacyData/ RE using Dropbox. How you use Dropbox with Legacy depends to some extent on the speed of your internet connection and your patience. You can keep either your actual working file in Dropbox or the backups or both. The important thing when anticipating switching computers is to make sure that the first computer isn't disconnected from the internet before it has finished uploading the file. The next important thing is on the second computer, you have it connected to the internet for long enough for it to finish updating Dropbox before you open your file in Legacy. Otherwise, if you have your working file in Dropbox, you end up with a lot of conflicted copies. Or if you are relying on restoring your latest backup, you may not have the latest one to restore either because the first computer was shut down or disconnected from the internet before the file uploaded OR you haven't given the second computer time to download it. The speed of your internet connection means that some people don't even have to think about this time thing because their connection is always really fast - and others have to consider it all the time as their connection isn't so fast.
