Hello Brian I think I understand what you are saying. That when the father #146 is produced/created for the report, the program hasn't calculated the higher number children, but wouldn't the program start with the latest generations and work its ways back? My only other thought is that the program is set up in such a way that it can only accept a child's number lower than that of a father/parent.
I'm a bit surprised that this hasn’t come up before. If one were to "read" the ancestor report, when you would get to the father's section, it would appear that only one child is a direct ancestor. In my case, since I have made all direct ancestors names in all caps, it is obvious, but not everyone follows that convention. Would the programmers make the correction in my version 7.5.0.278 or in version 8? Thank you for your response & I hope the programmers can indeed correct this. The higher numbered kids have not had their Ahnentafel number calculated yet when the problem family is included in the report. I have referred this to the programmer because it will take a major rewrite of the way the report is produced to pre-scan and calculate Ahnentafel numbers for everyone in the report before starting to print the pages.
