I've only sampled the webinar but it would seem that the only thing Snagit does that Faststone Capture doesn't do is capture editable text - and the example on the Snagit Text capture video isn't even needed in Windows 8.1 as a folder list can be copied and pasted.
I've been using Faststone Capture for a couple of months after getting fed up with the capture program I was using and like it a lot. Costs $19.95.
