Jennifer, Thank you for the clarification. I did a bit of searching online at Techsmith in the v11.4 help file and found the following:
Text: Captures text within the selected area as an editable Rich Text Format file (RTF). I suppose it would have its uses. I never had a use for such an OCR type conversion professionally. If I need the OCR capability now I can always install my copy of the older version. You can of course capture text, but not since V 12 can the output be anything other than an image file. You used to be able to have the output to editable text such as a .txt file. That screen image included both graphics and text elements. Yesterday I found an online listing of certified pharmacy techs that included my daughter. That capture was text only. In V12 Snagit removed the option of text capture. I use this a lot and was disappointed it was removed. I purchased an upgrade and got caught. (I was offered a refund.) I have to use version 11 for text capture.
