My "trick" is to copy and paste the source into the "reason this information is correct" popup box when you transfer an event over to FamilySearch. This works very well because instead of the source being put at the bottom of the FamilySearch screen under the Sources heading (on the FamilySearch website), it will actually appear in the same box as the event itself making it much more useful.
