Thanks Michele, That explains the problems. My main problem was exporting to a
gedcom and importing to Ancestry. Where do I out the media? I don't expect a
serious answer to that really, anyway I don't really want to publish all my
media to ancestry

If you export to a gedcom, the media links export.  If you reimport that
gedcom (on the same computer) your media will be intact.  If you reimport on a
different computer you will have to copy the media and put it on that computer.
If you put it in the exact same place as it was on the first computer then
your links won’t be broken.  If it is in a different place, you will only need
to run the Relinker and Legacy will find the files.    Michele Technical

I had to do some trial and error.  The trick was to EXPORT as a GEDCOM not as
a Legacy file. Then IMPORT the GEDCOM replacing the Do Over file. But it
worked!   Yippee! Thank you so much. I kept my original file from over the
years but wanted a clean slate with this file to be sure I correctly do my
citations and sources.  Now I can move forward to the fun stuff...research.

On the first screen is a box that, for me, is always checked by default:
Override Source options - include all source information.  Make sure that box
is not checked.  Click the "Customize" button and under "Groups of Items to
EXCLUDE from Export" check "Sources"

Ok.  I just exported the file, supposedly without sources.  Didn't
work,  I still show 125 master sources.  What did I do wrong?

 Hi, Naomi --

I did this last year.  Rather than copy the file and remove the
sources, I exported to a Legacy file with everything except the
 sources.

I am doing a modified Do Over.  I have made a copy of my family
file in Legacy.  Now I want to remove ALL the sources and
citations in my Do Over file so I can start fresh with them.

 How do I do this?
