Ooooh! That sounds neat and usable. Did not know that you could drag and drop
BETWEEN family files. This work around might be my best way until Legacy adds
the feature.

Many thanks Dave !

One trick I used many Legacy versions ago to duplicate a few different
individuals probably still works but it may be more complicated than you wish.

First, as with all experimentation, make sure you have a good backup of your
files.

Open a new *empty* Legacy file -- I named mine "empty.fdb"

Then open this "empty.fdb" file in Split View with your family file as the
second file.

Select your family file and drag and drop the individuals you want duplicated
over to "empty.fdb".

Select "empty.fdb" file and drag and drop the individuals back to your family
file.

Do not merge or permit auto-merge to combine them.

Obviously, if you wish you can edit or modify those "empty.fdb" records before
copying them back.

Have fun!

Hi,

I've been doing a lot of intense updates recently trawling probate records.
One thing I'd love to be able to do quickly when having to split current
information stored against 1 person into 2 separate people (same name, just
a new RIN) is duplicate my current individual record... I looked for any
such feature but could not find anything. Any others know how to do this?

Thanks so much,
