It depends on if Legacy was installed with OneDrive turned on.

If One Drive was on then it is in the cloud (which has enormous consequences on
functionality)

If OneDrive was turned off and removed prior to Legacy being installed then the
normal path would be in a sub-directory adjacent to your data folder and your
media folder.

After numerous attempts at trying to make it work… I have concluded that
Windows 11 wants you to do all your work in the cloud (Which is very bad news
for the serious genealogist with a large database.)

I hope someone can prove me wrong..

This email was not intended to get someone upset, so please don’t try to kill
the messenger…

Kind regards

Henry

Subject: [LegacyUG] I am afraid I have another crazy question

When I say yes to the backup of the file, where does it go to?

I do not backup as a rule, and hit skip. My database and media are copied
daily to another drive. Recently I tried to make a backup from legacy and it
says yes, goes through the motions, says it created a Zip file, and gives me an
addy where it's stored but there is nothing there. Win 11 and the current
version of Legacy

I am hoping it is just me being a dummy and it is easy to find, but it has me
beat.
