Jim-

This might be a good time to ask- Is someone watching counties so if there
is a county name change, new county, county no longer existing (any kind of
change) AniMap is updated? I.e., is someone keeping up with county
information for AniMap?

Thank you.

Robert

Chap,

AniMap will do a lot more than just show boundary changes -- it will
also do radius searches to find nearby towns, cemeteries, schools, etc.;
calculate the distance between two places; and also can be used to plot
the movements of families on a US map. I think it is a highly useful
tool for the serious researcher and I know professional genealogists who
use it regularly. Please see
http://www.millenniacorp.com/_videos/animap/animap.html for a video
demonstration.

I purchased the Animap software and was somewhat disappointed with it.
It
appears to be an old Windows application (16 bit) and has not been
update in
several years. The only thing that seems useful is to view county
boundaries
within each state as they have changed with time. If you need that
capability,
then it does that very well. That's my 2 cents on Animap.
