Robin,

Your source request sounds a lot like the "Free Form" sources in
Generations.  It causes a whole slew of problems with gedcoms because the
source is then exported as a note and importing programs don't know what to
do with it.  Legacy imports it with a source list name of "Source" and then
the entire source is in the Source Notes - which necessitates a lot of work
on the part of the user to either reformat the source or at the very least
create a usable Source List Name.  You can go to Options > Customize >
Sources to select to show the Source Notes for all sources in reports.

One thing I would like to see are customizable sources, where I can build my
own "type" and create the text fields and surrounding source text.  Again
this can be put under "Advanced" options to keep your program marketable to
beginners and intermediate users that don't want to screw around with
things.
