Robin, Your source request sounds a lot like the "Free Form" sources in Generations. It causes a whole slew of problems with gedcoms because the source is then exported as a note and importing programs don't know what to do with it. Legacy imports it with a source list name of "Source" and then the entire source is in the Source Notes - which necessitates a lot of work on the part of the user to either reformat the source or at the very least create a usable Source List Name. You can go to Options > Customize > Sources to select to show the Source Notes for all sources in reports.
