I'd say NeXT is too close for comfort to NXT, for trademarks it is also not allowed to use something too similar. At the moment I'd rather keep the existing Lejos project and port it to NXT. Maybe we can even get some interoperation, at least via the host computer. Also, the intro page to the developer program says that there will be an NDA: http://mindstorms.lego.com/community/default.aspx "Of course, you will have to agree to keep any information provided to you about the product confidential until you receive further notice." So in case some of us are chosen they cannot use a public project right away, so there is no need to hurry.
