RF frequency of such devices in Poland, is 417 MHz or 433 MHz in most cases. It is always monodirectional so I plan to buy two sets of such extenders and connect it, is that manner: <RCX> -(ir)-> <"IR Receiver - RF Sender" A> -(radio)-> <"RF Receiver - IR Sender" A> -(IR)-> <Tower> ^---(ir)-- <"RF Receiver - IR Sender" B> <-(radio)- <"IR Receiver - RF Sender" B> -(IR)-----| I've found very small devices of that kind, with power input 5V 100mA. I think that I can safely plug it to 9V battery, because I think that it has to be converted inside to 12V to power the radio unit. I've no idea if it will work, but I'll try... someday.
