Yes in this stage, the NXT community try to create different Languajes and
Platforms to increase the bot's complexity.

If you see, NXTLog, http://mindstorms.lego.com/NXTLOG/default.aspx,
 you can see:

+ Cars
+ Tanks
+ Catapults
+ Basic Bipeds

If you notice, that kind of bots are very easy to build. Sometimes
 you see exceptions as Car Factory,

NXTMech,

This is the future, in my opinion. With NXJ we can build complex 
bots but we should work to:

+ Win with NXJ in Platform NXT Market and improve iCommand to 
work as Bridge between NXJ and Internet...
+ Avoid 3 Motor limitation.
+ Improve the communication between 2 Bricks.

my question about external memory is based on the needs of improve the
complexity of algorithms and the needs to create a full featured JVM
 in NXT brick.

It is possible to store a full featured JVM in a External Memory and 
create a Minimal Kernel into NXT brick to use that external memory
 as internal?
