Thanks Robert, > I just submitted the Sigma 24mm f1.4 on canon mount, but not the 1.8. the problem with the 24mm 1.8 macro and a lot of other Sigma lenses, is the missing model name, so darktable / lensfun can identify the lens. I am still thinking of this problem before I take shots for corrections. So I know now, that there are no corrections for these lenses and it makes sense to take shots. Maybe someone can give a hint, how the metadata have to be changed, so dt can recognize the lens? I asked this a few times ago, but never got an answer. It didn't help to change the metadata from nothing or Sigma only to [EXIF] 0xfdea Lens : Sigma 24mm F1.8 EX DG ASP Macro [XMP] - Lens : Sigma 24mm F1.8 EX DG ASP Macro [XMP] - Lens Model : Sigma 24mm F1.8 EX DG ASP Macro > I just want to make sure I understand what options like master, or > 3.4.x or whatever to edit the files with the new lens distortion info > so that it would be in the files such as 'dslr-canon.xml' in the main > download. Making the corrections is the easy part so far lol. Hmmh, I undestand that you would like to include the corrections directly, but isn't it easier that the admins copy it into the file for the next time? I don't know if this depends on the distribution, but it looks like the lensfun-xml files are never changed, but a 2nd folder with updates is created, where at least the Ubuntu-distri has problems with the priority. In the meantime I use xml-files in ~/.local/share/lensfun and _not_ updates. This is the only way it works for me after a lot of testing.
