The biggest issue I know about is break in compatibility between @file
formats. Starting with Leo 4.5, Leo can not read files written by Leo
3.x. If you try, you will get this error message::
can not read 3.x derived file <file name>
you may upgrade these file using Leo 4.0 through 4.4.x
You are safe if you can read all your external files with Leo 4.8.
Other than that, I would suggest using one of the recent nightly
builds. There are no *new* bugs in those builds, and substantially
fewer old bugs.
Having said that, there is always the chance that you will find
serious upgrade issues. I will be happy to fix any that appear. Such
bugs will have the highest (critical) priority.
