Ok, that are more or less known issues.
One shouldn't even spend too much time to get a license which just
allows patches. Fight for a real usable license or put energy in LessTif only ;-)

Well, what do you suppose can be done about that??
They won't adobt the LT approach easily and the license prevents the
opposite. And I'm very sure that they do not care at all what you, RMS or
me tell them.
Actually I would suggest to neglect OM for another year and see whether
they get things right or not. Ah, BTW: you won't become very lucky if
the license goes opensource but the 'official' CVS maintainers won't
like your patches?! Then you could start having you private edition but
this is also not very convenient.
