The fact that you asked that question does not bode well. LFS isn't the beginning of the learning curve. You should really spend some time using a linux distro first. Ubuntu, Fedora Core, Suse, are all popular distros that allow you to install without much pain. Knowing programming by itself doesn't mean much for LFS. Intimate knowledge of linux before trying LFS does. You mentioned wanting to try the "linux thing". Most linux users are not using LFS. It's a small niche geared toward a much more specific audience. However, once you become knowledgeable about Linux in general (by trying different distros and learning them fairly well) then if you want to tackle the specific things LFS teaches, we'll be here waiting for you. :) -- Archaic Want control, education, and security from your operating system?
