I deleted the link, then recreated it to point to /bin/bash Debian complains severely when you try to remove dash completely.
At this point I've made it past my previous hang-ups and just finished the 2nd pass of gcc. Looking good at this point. I should finish late tomorrow due to work/sleep schedule. ________________________________ From: lfs-chat <[email protected]> on behalf of Daniel Schepler <[email protected]> Sent: Sunday, June 26, 2016 9:53:47 AM To: General chatter list Subject: Re: [lfs-chat] Issues with host system Debian On Sat, Jun 25, 2016 at 4:14 AM, Daniel Bernhardt <[email protected]> wrote: > link to /bin/bash from /bin/dash Just in case this wasn't mistyped: you shouldn't be overwriting /bin/dash with a link to /bin/bash. What the LFS book requests is to replace the default link /bin/sh -> /bin/dash on Debian systems with a link /bin/sh -> /bin/bash. (Though, that said, I've never actually even found that to be necessary for building LFS on Debian hosts.) -- Daniel Schepler -- http://lists.linuxfromscratch.org/listinfo/lfs-chat FAQ: http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/blfs/faq.html Unsubscribe: See the above information page
