Thunderbird is working now - I *suspect* that perhaps I
misunderstood the UI (I've just found that I need to use the menu
accessed via the stripes at the right to come out of it), but
perhaps the fix was because I upgraded gtk+-3 to 3.22.4 : I had to
do that to fix gucharmap - thought I had tested that, but obviously
I didn't try changing the font (it segfaulted).

I'm glad that Arch had a bug report linking to upstream, it made it
a walk in the park, unlike trying to work out why a cmake package is
failing to complete the cmake stage : if I wasn't a veggie I'd be
looking for some entrails to use for divination ;)

Douglas - if you haven't got to gtk+-3.22.4 I can take it (#8466),
but probably not for about 20 hours.
