I have a Lenovo Thinkpad T440s, which came with Win 8.1 (that I kept installed).
I've been able to disable the secure boot from the BIOS menus, and set rEFInd as the default boot manager following the (excellent and extensive) instructions on its web site. I read somewhere (can't remember the source) that you need to disable the quickboot/suspend features from the from the Windows settings (it's somewhere in the power settings or something like that), or else it keeps resetting the boot priority when it shuts down. -- Emanuele Rusconi
