Hi Bruce, I see that there is a BIOS update to A08 for your machine available at http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/19/Drivers/DriversDetails?driverId=R129672&fileId=2731114035&osCode=BIOSA&productCode=precision-370&languageCode=EN&categoryId=BI. Have you tried looking into that? I didnt look into the chipset, but it appears it has an LGA775 socket, which means you may be able to put a newer processor in it that is x86_64 capable (e.g. Core2 Duo).
I also recommend a kernel update. I bet there is a bug somewhere in the memory management code that prevents it all from being recognized. Douglas R. Reno
