Have you tried looking into that? I didnt look into the chipset, but it
appears it has an LGA775 socket, which means you may be able to put a newer
processor in it that is x86_64 capable (e.g. Core2 Duo).
I also recommend a kernel update. I bet there is a bug somewhere in the
memory management code that prevents it all from being recognized.
I think it is a bigger problem than BIOS or kernel. I tried to override
th eBIOS with mem=4G in the kernel parameters and a much more up-to-date
SUsE live boot didn't detect the additional memory.
