Not really. I've tried on my machine, and gotten the same issue.
However, the daily snapshot on linuxfromscratch.org site as a big font for the
title. Normally, the docbook-xsl used for the lfsbook is the same everywhere
(local to trunk). But on the lfs host, fop version is 2.1 and java is version 
8...
That's all I can say up to now...
