Good morning!

The patch indeed specialcases postproc and adds SUBDIRS usage in the main Makefile.

Since we are using already SUBDIR it rang a bell and I had to check it didn't clash, overall I'd rather rework how the binaries are linked, since we already discussed about splitting avconv in order to make it less unmanageable so in the end this patch could be dropped as it is and the idea of not linking postproc can be postponed this pending rework.

Every month or two, Diego floods the list with useless little patches
like this, then pesters me to "approve" them. I wish he'd stop.

I hope that Diego could take that in account once translated with something like:

"The patches proposed add some small improvements that would be overcome soon by a larger patch that should change the code impacted, since the small improvement comes with added complexity please drop it, for the time being the rule of thumb is not to add features to the build system till this major rework hadn't been done"

I hope that helps.
