Especially since the national party has abolished dues as of January 1, there must be some mechanism to prevent or diminish infiltration and give added weight to those who have greater commitment to the principles of liberty and the party. I understand that the cost of travel to the national convention is not a totally fair or efficient mechanism, especially for those who live in Florida or Ohio when the convention is practically on the West Coast in Portland, Oregon, but right now it is the best we have to at least give some added influence to those of us who have more dedication to the party and the cause of liberty than those people whose dedication is limited to signing the nonaggression statement, assuming that they mean it.
