Like counting on the Libertarian Party to ever elect anyone to any public office of significance that will bring us liberty in our time?
Look, none of us is getting any younger. I once believed in the dream of the Libertarian Party. I bought into it, hook, line and sinker. I was the hardcore of hardcore LPer in the 1980s. Ed Clark, Ron Paul, Karl Hess, Jim Turney, Andre Marrou all the way mann! Then Marrou lost his seat in the Alaska House. The LP kept losing elections all over the place. No LPer could get above 2% for a Congressional seat. I gave it my heart and sould. It didn't work. And it won't work. There are too many non-political types in the LP. Too many people who don't know their head from a hole in the ground when it comes to walking precincts, sending press releases out, or meeting with the media. Until the LP gets political professionals involved and starts nominating celebrity candidates for President, Congress, Governor and all other races, they will never win. Thus, you are stuck with the thought of going to your grave as a Big- Time Loser, never breaking out of the 1 to 2% level.
