Strange ideas huh? I believe that since the Constitution does not
state in Article I Sec. 8 that Congress has any authority regarding
educating children it is unconstitutional for Congress to spend money
on a program of education. Thus if I were in Congress I would vote no
on any bill for appropriating monies for the unconstitutional
Department of Education. If you believe the DOE should be abolished
then why would you vote yes to fund it at all? I believe that one
should strive for the ideal rather than what you believe is practical.
I get the impression that had you been around during the American
Revolution you would have probably argued against going to war with
British because victory was a long stot. You would have probably bent
over and argued in favory of begging the British to cut taxes rather
than elimating them because it was unrealistic that they would
eliminate the taxes but at least cutting them is better. I don't think
you would have been on the side of Paine, Washington, Henry,
Jefferson, Madison, and certainly not Mason.
