Sounds like you're sympathetic to the libertarian Republican 
strategy.  You may wish to check out the libt. GOP movement at 
www.rlc.org or over at Yahoo Libertarian Republican group.  

BTW, there are at least 20 hardcore libertarians serving in state 
legislatures around the country right now as Republicans, many 
affiliated directly with the Libertarian Party, in states such as 
Michigan (!!), California, Florida, Washington, Oregon, Mass, NH and 
Alaska.
