Pro-war and pro civil liberties do not go hand and hand. I saw this on the BBC yesterday morning, it sums up the great spread of liberty comming from our soldiers in Iraq.
15 Iraqi civilians were reported killed by a roadside bomb by the US military, journalistic investigation discovered that one US Marine was killed by that roadside blast, the 15 Iraqi civilians were gunned down in there home across the street from the explosion. US Marines stormed the home, two Iraqi survivers, a 9 year old girl and here younger brother. The boy refuses to speak, but the girl told how she witnesed the Marines bust in the room, her father was praying on the floor, the marines yelled at him, then they shot him, then her mother, and threw a granade under her grandfathers bed. Video footage shows the bloddied floors, corpses and bullet holes in the wall of the two rooms were her entire extended family were slaughtered. Purhaps they were in a way killed by a roadside bomb as the US military reported, as the bomb did kill the one marine, leading to the bloodlust of his squadmates. If you want to claim this is about compasion, libertey, or any nonsense such as this. Tell me why Iraq and not Pakistan? Iran? the west bank? Darfur? Somalia? Think of all that money spent on Iraq, and consider that 50% of africans do not have clean water, and that a country like Uganda could get sufficient water from little over 25 million in well drilling. Explain to us how going to war with Iraq and occupying the state spread more liberty and did more for humanity than drilling wells for fresh water in Uganda Kenja Ethiopia and Rwanda? Also, keep in mind the droughts currently hitting the horn of africa right now. After that, explain to me how the US going to war with Iraq is making Netherlanders safer, and furhter more why is it the US armies responsibility to make netherlanders safer.
