Geoff-  Just out of curiosity, what should have been done after the two hour
sustained attack on the USS Liberty?  That was a two hour sustained attack
with torpedo boats, fighter jets and a helicopter gunship.

You should study your history.  We were heavily involved in the "Great War"
(on the side of Britain) long before we sent troops.

And it can hardly be denied that our pushing of the Versailles Treaty was
what led to Hitler.

Whew!!  That is a LOT of fighting and killing if you are going to advocate
destroying EVERY country that might have a part of it's population wanting
to get in a whack at us!!  Where do you stop?
