Subject: [Libertarian] Re: Dondero meets with Libertarian Chair of Montana

Make up your mind. You said they were libertarians, and then you said
they were Republicans. Republican and Libertarian are opposites, so
which are they? What political party do they belong to? If it's the
Republican Party, they aren't libertarians because the Republican
Party does not work toward liberty, and it never has.
******

SOME republicans may be libertarian. And SOME Libertarians may feel it is
more expedient to run and work within the republican party, particularly on
the local level.

I believe it is futile, though. I tried to work within the democrat party,
believing at the time that it was more expedient. All it did was frustrate
me. I quit the democrat party when my choices were Jimmy "Malaise Forever"
Carter, Teddy "Chappaquiddick Kid" Kennedy and Jerry "Governor Moonbeam"
Brown. My own choice that year was Brown, hardly a libertarian choice, but
arguably the most libertarian choice within the democrat party.

If I didn't care to make an effect on the state or national level, I would
probably still be democrat. That would likely make me more of a player
locally.

In short, I know there are libertarians among the democrat and republican
party activists. But they are surely frustrated when pondering anything
above the local level.
