You're right there are concepts of economics that defy common sense (i actually
have done a small amount of research on physics.... enough to know it has
these attributes as well) However there are quite a few parts of both that
actually are based in common sense. Those factors that are common sense in my
opinion clearly outline the result of open borders at this stage in the life of
our country and our laws. Rewarding those who break our laws will also
detriment our country. Illegal immigrants are not assimilated into our country
and have no real reason to be loyal to our country. How can granting them the
same rights as those who are loyal to this country benefit us? Especially when
they in essence cut in line and started their lives here by disrespecting the
laws and values that are currently in place.

There are many concepts in economics (and physics and statistics as well) that
defy common sense. The purpose of science is to find the truth through
hypothesis, analysis, experimentation, and observation. The obvious is often
wrong.
