That's rather cryptic - isn't Arduino is like any existing hardware, except that API implementation is stupidly inefficient? > > It'll be interesting to see what ST does with regards to providing > libraries for these devices. Besides that, ST will do what they always do - provide CMSIS and peripheral library. Besides that, they will do nothing, in particular, why would they bother with "ports of the existing arduino libraries"? > I wonder if there is any interest in making a generic libopencm3 > "arduino" library that would support all the boards currently > supported by this project? What for? Is any particularly bright software written with '"arduino" library'? Maybe Contiki, Wiselib, L4 exist only thanks to arduino enablement? Nope, it's a library of choice for people who don't know how to blink LEDs. When it gets to do something real, arduino spirit quickly dies off, for example Contiki port lies uncared for year(s): https://github.com/contiki/contiki-arduino . (Or maybe people just outgrow arduino quickly and stop wasting time with it). > > Best regards, > Trevor > > > > > [1]http://www.cnx-software.com/2014/02/18/stmicro-unveils-10-mbed-enabled-and-arduino-compatible-nucleo-development-boards/ > [2]http://community.arm.com/docs/DOC-8189 > [3]http://hackaday.com/2014/02/18/stm32-nucleo-the-mbed-enabled-arduino-compatable-board/ -- Best regards, Paul mailto:pmis...@gmail.com ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Managing the Performance of Cloud-Based Applications Take advantage of what the Cloud has to offer - Avoid Common Pitfalls.
