I think the problem is that I've linked the mssql backend against the Sybase 
sybdb.dll. FreeTDS provides a libsybdb-5.dll which isn't found by the library 
from my package.

The Windows libraries are the most interesting parts at the moment. If you can 
test as much as possible of them, you would be a great support. Also, I 
haven't managed to compile the firebird backend yet. If you find some hints in 
web what have to be linked against the binary, it would be a big help.
