Perhaps we should write a similar short document for other languages as 
well? I'm not sure that many people submitting casual patches are going 
to read through the GNU standards, whereas they will read a quick, clear 
list that it's easy to check their code against.

Although I'm not really sure if that's a massive issue, since most code 
that's not PHP is just quick python scripts which no-one besides the 
core development team is likely to have a lot of long-term interest in 
(assuming that last.fm releases the promised scrobble ws api calls so 
that lastscrape can die away)
