--- Comment #2 from [email protected] --- The thing is that opening the font dropdown allows you to quickly oversee the fonts (because the font names already let you see a small preview of how each of the fonts looks), and you can simply scroll down (with mouse wheel or keyboard arrows) the open font list and quickly see potentially suitable fonts, which then you can choose on the selected text. Suggestion: a user-selectable option that lets users choose which font dropdown list behavior is better for their needs. Maybe something like: "Font dropdown opens at the top where recently used fonts are shown." (This could remain default, to avoid surprising existing users.)
