--- Comment #5 from Eyal Rozenberg <[email protected]> --- (preliminary comment: This is about selecting typefaces, not fonts; see: https://www.geeksforgeeks.org/websites-apps/difference-between-typeface-and-font/ ; but see also bug 35538) The thing for me is, that if we open at the top of the list, it is difficult to get to the position of the selected font; while if we open to its position, it is pretty easy to get to the top of the list (e.g. by pressing Home). Also, when the current text's typeface is not one you've recently used, and you expand the drop-down - you won't even see it anywhere, which feels kind of weird. So I tend towards making this change and seeing how users respond. (In reply to jan d from comment #4) > The clean solution would be to offer controls that actually allow the user > to control different ways of accessing fonts – Affinity Photo, for example, > has selectors on top of the list to toggle between All (A-Z), Recently used, > and Favorites. Interesting ideas for separate bugs. I'll add say that the typefaces which should be the most relevant are those used in styles that in use in the document, and styles in use in the template. Plus, "Recently Used" is problematic anyway if it's not "recently used in this document". But that is a bit off-topic. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
