I completely disagree, it is not clear at all. Typing is literally a way of
modifying the text. If I put the cursor into an existing paragraph and start
typing then I am literally “modifying existing text”, but that is not what [M]
is referring to. In that case it is the [T] checkbox that is relevant because
it is still about typing. The [M] checkbox specifically refers to clicking the
”AutoCorrect -> Apply” menu item. I think it would be much clearer if the label
had the word ”apply” in it. ”Modify” is so vague that it can apply just as much
to typing as it can to the ”apply” menu item. You can’t claim that it is
intuitive after everybody on the bug report has said that they didn’t
understand what the checkbox does without further explanation.
