@Regina: this bug report is not about the user ability or inability to change
the default font, but about the default font of LibreOffice Writer itself. A
user can easily change the default font in Tools -> Options -> LibreOffice
Writer -> Basic fonts (western).

Good default values are important for an application. The better the default
values are, the better the usability and accessibility is. 

It's also much more efficient to change the setting of an application once,
instead of millions of users doing the same thing.

Right now, the choice of Liberation Serif makes LibreOffice look outdated and
incompatble with Microsoft Office. I belief it's important to change this.

For this bug report: please, let we keep this discussion to changing the
default font of LibreOffice Writer to Liberation Sans and not about changing
the complete font family. That's another and even more diffult discussion.

@Stuart: do you see import/export issues when changing the default font of
LibreOffice Writer from Liberation Serif to Liberation Sans? Are there any real
possible bottlenecks?

Who is from the UX-team and who isn't?
