I have changed the "Page layout: Only left" to "... Only right" to see an effect - nothing. Introduced an empty page before with a simple page break - no effect. I would not understand the property "Page layout: Only xy" to introduce an empty page before, I would understand it to "apply it if the page is left / right", do not apply to the other side. (?). But there is the next question: What is the "left" and "right" page. Is it depending from the selected "View - Zoom: Zoom, check bookmode", or is it depending on the page number odd or even. This is also a prone of obfuscation. Intrinsic, for printed books, the odd page is anytime right side. But some pdf viewer (in browsers) ignore this old rule since Johannes Gutenberg ~1450. And also in Libreoffice it is free selectable Bookmode or not. For a proper document design there should be the possibility to define a page break to "odd" and "even" page independent from whether it is shown left or right, because last one is depending on a current view setting only. Odd and even page are the properties of the document. But of course, now it depends on the property of "Page numbers:" in the tab "Page" in the page style, and even from the property in the paragraph style, tab "Text Flow" check "Page number" ( which should be denominated as "start with new page number" (?). This is even complicated. Hence this topic is not solved. I need a lot of time to check how it effects on a empty document, with different versions of LO, on Windows or Linux (Mac I haven't) etc. There is a standard page style "Left Page" following by "Next style: Right Page" and vice versa found in my document as default style. Using that implies that a simple page break because of not used "page break" instead of continue the text for more as one page does not work, because a page style is only applied after a definitely page break? This is also to test, what does it mean ...? It is not logical to understand without test.
