ady <[email protected]> changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Status|RESOLVED |REOPENED Resolution|NOTABUG |--- CC| |[email protected] Ever confirmed|0 |1 Severity|minor |normal --- Comment #4 from ady <[email protected]> --- The fact that Calc deals with all numeric non-zero values as TRUE, and TRUE as equivalent to the numeric value "1", does not fully explain why the result of IFS() is initially expressed as TRUE instead of showing the actual numeric value. IOW, it is not clear why the cell format is automatically converted to Boolean instead of showing the numeric value. Example in LO Calc (as of 2026-10-16 with LO Dev 27.2): =IFS(1=1;2) shows the numeric value "2" =IFS(1=1;-2) shows the Boolean result TRUE, instead of showing the numeric value "-2". It would seem that when the Result is a negative numeric value, then IFS() would automatically show a Boolean TRUE instead of the numeric value. I do not know whether this behavior is intentional. As of 2026-10-16 in LO Dev 27.2, IFS() is not part of the ODF standard, and is coded instead as "COM.MICROSOFT.IFS". Unless someone can provide some reasoning, this behavior would seem to be unexpected / incorrect (?). I am reopening the report for now. Hopefully someone can either justify the current behavior (from the code, some code review, some other report, or even from similar functions in Calc), or otherwise confirm that this should be considered a bug. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
