No chance to > dock it on the left side. Proposed solution in bug 113416 is a similar menu > entry Dock/Undock. I've showed a clear example of the sidebar being impossible to dock once it's undocked, using that very option in the menu. Sometimes it so happens this command does absolutely nothing. At the same time undocking the sidebar is extremely easy to do, and happens to me and my coworkers by accident regularly. Again, it's because you only have to drag it away from its position by clicking and dragging the empty space in between all the controls, which is clicked or misclicked all the time. That is my main problem. I can even live with the sidebar being dockable/undockable using any means, however the easy drag by empty space must go or at least let me disable it in settings. IMO floating anything in the UI in a productivity application (barring artist maybe, and other jobs where you can customize your workspace to no end), where constistency and predictability of the software is not even a choice but a requirement, especially if places like accounting where each day I have to do repeatable tasks and can't allow myself (or others after me) wasting time on figuring out program's UI shortcommings. It's not my job in my job. I'm however conscious enough about it and willing to point out the problem, so perhaps future me's can have a better experience.
