I did all that. Resized, put close and further from the edge. No change. However, that's not my point. Thanks, though. However, I really don't want to spend time figure out how to dock it. I don't care if that particular bug is fixed or not. Maybe I wasn't clear enough. What I propose is for the thing to be permanently locked using an option in that hamburger menu or if that's too scary to add, perhaps add it as an advanced setting string deep in the config. I can live with that, as long as that sidebar stays put no matter what. Why not add an option to disable the problematic mouse drag by empty space on the sidebar? Why is it even there? If someone wants to move an undocked sidebar it has a titlebar for that very purpose. No other part of the UI has this easy-mouse drag on, AFAIK, just the sidebar and only the sidebar has this problem with putting it back to its place. I don't want to fiddle with windows and frames just so I can find that single hidden pixel on the screen where the docking engages, while I'm in the middle of my work. I want this thing NEVER undocked in the first place. I refuse to believe there is a single reason for NOT having an option (disabled by default) to have the sidebar locked in place forever. Libreoffice's toolbars have that, perhaps since version 1.x of its predecessor. And also, not even toolbars have that irritating easy mouse move turned on. You have to move it by the dotted hangle at the start of the bar. Not so with the sidebar. Btw. I also am for adding even more sidebars to the app. Given the aspect ratio and resolutions of average modern monitor, having more sidebars makes more sense than either ribbon UI or multiple strips of icons. Though, at least with toolbars you can put them vertically, but then no editable fields, dropdown list or whatnot. So then, is it possible to have that option to lock the sidebar or disable its easy mouse move somewhere in the configuration? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
